JoEl Vogt has worked both as a painter and as a fabric artist. In either media, her art reflects the inspiration she finds in the natural world, progressing from impressionistic landscapes to more abstract focus on ambient light, color and mood. Her goal is to capture the feelings of energy found in scenes of Nature.
Her paintings have primarily been acrylics on canvas. JoEl has exhibited in dozens of shows in the Kansas City area as well as in several galleries such as Eva Reynolds Fine Arts, The Rice Gallery, and the Phoenix Gallery in Topeka. Her paintings have also been in private and corporate collections in several states. Her fiber work takes many forms and uses both traditional fabric and material she has hand dyed.
In her professional career JoEl was a counselor and art therapist in private practice, using art as a source of inspiration and healing for others.
